Etiquette Statement:
We welcome all site members to participate in our forum. Our forum is a place where industry professionals can discuss all relevant topics about specialty coffee, share their experiences in the business and provide helpful tips to members who seek guidance. Below are some guidelines for forum discussions on this site:
• All postings are the opinions of others. Whether a member is asking for help or responding to another's inquiry, all posts are the opinions of the posting member. As stated in the Registration Agreement: If a member finds any material that is posted by another member to be objectionable, his/her concerns should be brought to the attention of the site moderator(s).
Flame wars (messages that encourage unruly behaviors or emotional responses) should not be perpetuated in any way.
Take the postings for what they are—opinions. Whether a member finds the information pertinent or not is solely based upon the individual's needs and may not apply to each member's situation. We are not responsible for the accuracy of the posts or the information provided by members to the forum community.
• Respect other members. The qualifications for being a member of this forum are simple—the member should have an interest in the specialty coffee industry and will provide general information and a valid e-mail address. This forum is for professionals in the industry, newcomers to the business and others who are looking to expand their knowledge of the business. No question should be dismissed in an unprofessional manner, even if it is a question that has been asked and answered several times.
Several members own businesses or work for businesses in the industry. Respect should be given when discussing topics relating to a business, its practices or its products. Name calling and defaming of another's business will not be permitted.
We reserve the right to modify or remove content from the forum that is inappropriate, unproductive or disrespectful to our members (as stated in the original Registration Agreement).
• Community ethics. Language that is considered vulgar, abusive, hateful, threatening, etc., will not be tolerated on this forum. Treat other members as you would like to be treated. The forum is meant to be a place for professional discussion and should remain on that level. Any member who feels he/she is being attacked should notify a moderator.
Selling your (the member's) products is inappropriate and is considered to be in violation of the original Registration Agreement. This forum is not a means to promote your products or defame those of competitors or others.
Forums are not chatrooms and should not be treated as such. Topics should remain on target and address only issues that pertain to the specialty coffee industry. Forums are not a place to bring personal attacks and concerns.
As per the original Registration Agreement, we are authorized to remove or modify any data submitted by members to these forums for any reason that we feel constitutes a violation of our policies, whether stated, implied or not.
Members also agreed not to post any copyrighted material that is not owned by the member or owners of this forum.
Members agreed not to post any information that is vulgar, hateful, threatening, religious, sexually oriented, in violation of any laws, or is considered harassment, sales of products or invades the privacy of other members.
We want to maintain a helpful, friendly, useful forum for our members. In order to do that, cooperation is needed from all members to maintain a professional environment.
